This traditional Vendee farmhouse has been beautifully renovated and offers comfortable spacious accommodation. The stylish interior is delightfully furnished, and this, together with the spectacular full-height lounge/dining room make La Longere aux Oliviers an ideal choice for a family holiday or a low season break. The house is situated on the edge of the village of Vix and within cycling distance (1.5 miles) of the village centre, offering a bakery, a grocery shop, bar/restaurant, post office and bank. There are several wine producers around the village.
Set in the Marais Poitevin (Green Venice), the surrounding area has numerous canals for fishing and the quiet lanes are ideal for walking and cycling. Cycle hire is available locally at Arcais, 9 miles, delivery possible).
The property has large enclosed grounds with plenty of space for childrens' games and the private heated pool is equipped with an electrically-operated safety cover making it fine for young children. The Vendee coast is easily accessible (33 miles to La Faute sur Mer) as is the delightful town of La Rochelle (24 miles), with it's old port, superb shopping, excellent restaurants and numerous holiday attractions.

Accommodation comprises:
Ground floor: Entrance lobby. Large lounge/dining room with fireplace. Separate kitchen with breakfast table. Utility room. Double bedroom (wide double). Bedroom with one double bed and one single bed with en-suite shower. Bathroom (shower over corner bath). Separate toilet with hand basin.
First Floor: Mezzanine over lounge providing an office area with Internet Wi-Fi and leading to two (proper) bedrooms - Double bedroom (wide double)with en-suite shower room. Bedroom with two single beds (further pull-out single bed). Separate toilet.

Large enclosed grounds, electrically operated entrance gates. Duck pond (fence and gate).
10m x 5m heated pool (depths 1.2m to 1.7m, internal access steps) equipped with roller-blind safety cover. Garden dining furniture, large parasol, sun-loungers. Parking. Table tennis. Boules.

Equipment includes: Washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave, cot, high chair, stair gate, BBQ, satellite TV (English channels), DVD player, Hi-Fi, under-floor central heating. Sheets and towels included. Logs provided in low season.
The pool will be open and heated from 21/4 to 13/10.

*Sleeping capacity - Whilst there are enough beds for 10, allowing flexibility of sleeping arrangements, the total capacity is limited to a maximum of 8 with no more than 6 adults.
