This character cottage, dating from the 18th century, benefits from a fabulous location with a superb view over a lake from the terrace and the kitchen/dining room. It offers spacious comfortable accommodation, having 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, is very well equipped and beautifully decorated. Sole use of the private heated pool in an enclosed area.

Garden adjacent to the property, plus natural grounds sloping down to the lake (fishing access further along the private lakeside walk). There is an enclosed courtyard and lawn in front providing a secure playing area for children.

There are shops, bars and restaurants in the nearby town of Mareuil sur Lay (5 miles), a bakery and bar at 3 miles and the village has a daily baker’s van. The Vendee coast is within easy reach (La Faute sur Mer 25 miles). And at just over a mile there is a lakeside play area - bathing permitted, OK for windsurfing. The cottage is ideally situated for plenty of holiday activities and places to visit, including the famous Green Venice area in the south Vendee and the history theme park of Le Puy Du Fou (under an hour's drive).

Ground floor – Kitchen / dining room with view over the lake, superb fitted kitchen and door to the dining terrace. Large full-height character lounge. Double bedroom (wide double) with en-suite shower room and toilet. Bedroom with three single beds and en-suite shower room. Separate toilet.
First floor – Bedroom with twin beds together as a wide double (can be separated on request) and further single bed. Bathroom. Separate toilet.

Dining terrace with view over lake. Enclosed courtyard (lawn and gravel). Garden. Off-road parking. Fenced/walled pool area* with 7m x 3.8m private heated pool (depth 1.4m).

Includes; Dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave, TV (English channels and home cinema sound) DVD, Wi-Fi internet, barbecue. Wood burner (logs supplied) and full central heating. Sheets and towels included. Pool open and heated 5/5 to 29/9.

*The pool fence and gate offers a practical safety measure, but is backed up by a regulation pool alarm.
