La Moinerie - Character cottage in a unique coastal location, sleeping 6, private plunge pool.

This lovely character cottage has been renovated to a high standard and benefits from an exceptional location. It is situated in a hamlet, perched on the rocky outcrop of "La Dive" which has stunning views over open fields to the bay of L'Aiguillon. On clear days you can see the island of Re. 3½ miles along the coast takes you to L'Aiguillon sur Mer, with it's fishing port, sea-food stalls, shops, supermarket, restaurants and man-made bathing lagoon, or 3 miles to the nearest beach, on the estuary point facing La Rochelle and the island of Re. The fabulous beaches of La Faute sur Mer are at just 5 miles. There is a restaurant within cycling distance along the point, whilst 4 miles inland takes you to the charming village of St Michel en L'Herm (shops, bars, restaurants). Bird-watchers will enjoy the immense variety in this area, from owls in the rock faces to sea birds on the estuary and birds of prey in the fields. The property has a heated plunge pool (access steps can be easily removed for child safety) a boules court and a children's play area.

Accommodation comprises:

Large open-plan lounge/dining room with fireplace (logs available), satellite TV, DVD, hi-fi, well equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, breakfast table, door to terrace), double bedroom, bathroom with corner bath (shower over) and toilet, bedroom with bunk beds - leading to adjoining studio annex.
Studio annex has - mezzanine double sleeping platform (NB: steep ladder access), bathroom with toilet, kitchenette, door to further separate terrace on the far side of the cottage.
Timber-frame solar heated plunge pool, 5m diameter, 1.2m deep. Sole use of the pool.
Lawn and terrace area, parking, garden dining furniture under gazebo, sun-loungers, bbq.
Blankets and rectangular pillows supplied.
2012 season dates, pool open, 9/6 to 22/9, just before or just after may be possible on request.
